District Club Strength Award and Analysis *New*
District Club Strength Award
The District Club Strength Award is being introduced during the 2021-2022 program year. It looks at club growth differently by focusing on growth in a District’s overall member base. When a District increases the average club size calculated at mid-year by 10% or more by year-end, it becomes eligible to receive the District Club Strength Award!
District Club Strength Award Measurement
A District's base is the average club size at mid-year. It is calculated as paid memberships divided by the total active clubs in the district at mid-year. The active club base measurement mid-year includes low, ineligible, and paid clubs. At year-end (6/30/22) the same metric will be used to determine the change in average District club size, and will be compared to the measurement taken at mid-year (12/31/21).
Achievement and Recognition
Achiving the goal is up to each District. District leaders are encouraged to work with the District's immediate team, Area and Division Directors, and club officers. Toastmasters International will provide customizable certificates for Districts to honor the efforts of the District Team Leaders. Districts that achieve 10% or more growth in average club size by the end of the program year will earn the District Club Strength Award.
Recognition at the Toastmasters International Convention
At the 2022 Toastmasters International Convention, all Districts who achieve the District Club Strength Award requirements will be honored during the Hall of Fame celebration. To honor those Districts that go above and beyond the 10% goal, the top three Districts that achieve the highest percentage of club size growth in excess of 10% will receive special recognition during the Hall of Fame festivities.

Interpreting the District Performance Trends Report Page
Updated January 2022
How can you tell on a month by month basis how well your District is progressing towards achieving your goals in the Critical Success Factors necessary for Distinguished District status?
Charting your progress on a monthly basis, in comparison to actual performance of your District over the past few years, serves as a valuable reference. By watching the performance of your District this year compared to prior years enables the identification of an ‘early warning’ signal if performance appears slower than in the past.
The District Performance Report Trends and corresponding graphs provide actual four-year and seven-year trends of your District on a monthly basis for the following factors:
- Member Payments
- Paid Clubs
- New Members
- Distinguished Clubs - two sets of information about Distinguished club is provided (Suspended clubs are excluded from these two calculations)
- The percentage of clubs that achieve 5 or more goals for the July to March period. Then for April , May and June it shows the actual percentage of Clubs that earn Distinguished (or better) status, based upon the Base number of clubs
- A second set of details showing the average number of Distinguished Club goals accomplished by clubs in the District
Comparison of your current year performance on a monthly basis to the years where Distinguished District was attained, or to the four-year or seven-year average, will assist in identifying what areas may need additional attention
The challenge is to watch for trends early enough to put additional effort into the identified areas necessary to ensure achieving the goals in the Critical Success Factors, thus ensuring Distinguished District status.
On the enclosed Performance Trends page, the Members per Club, and the Club Average calculations are based on the total number of Clubs shown on the District Performance Report Summary at June 30th each year. Additionally, the Members per Club calculation is a best-estimate determined by taking the total Member Payments at June 30th, dividing that by 2 (based on the two semi-annual reporting periods per year), and then dividing by the total number of Clubs reported at June 30th each year.
